One of my earlier works, showing a fragment of a sandal, made of a lovely blue textured leather and a shiny bright orange sole. The yellow background was chosen to contrast with the other two colors. Originally this photograph was part of a set of two photographs of the same sandal. I decided however to publish only this one, and make it more abstract and less obvious.
Gallery text:
In this abstract composition, the relationship between form, color, and texture takes center stage. Flowing, curved lines cut through the picture plane, creating a tension between softness and precision. The matte, intensely blue surface contrasts with the glossy red-orange element, while the warm yellow background lifts and deepens the composition.
By detaching the subject from any recognizable context, the focus shifts to the material and the sensory. Light no longer functions as a tool, but as an active element that traces the skin of the object and emphasizes its tactility. The photograph balances between object study and abstract landscape, inviting the viewer into a slowed, attentive act of looking.
The work operates at the intersection of photography, sculpture, and design, where form outweighs function and seeing becomes a form of experience.
